| The Presbyterian Church of Joy was formed 18 March 1845. It incorporated in 1853 and built a frame church which was dedicated 23 December 1853. It was organized with former members of the Presbyterian Church of Sodus who were not happy with the actions of the Geneva Presbytery. Enoch Granger was one of the Elders and a trustee. The church had a large large Sunday School, but did not add many members. In 1875, when William Young became minister in Joy, Enoch Granger was Elder, Deacon and Trustee. The church was revived and some members split off to form the Fairville Presbyterian Church. The church disbanded in the 1930s and the church building was dismantled. The cemetery remains to show where the church once stood. | |||||
