Historic narrative:
Organized in 1838, the congregation  met in "The Shanty" which they purchased and renovated about 1840. In 1863 Martin Field, carpenter , erected a church. A row of trees were planted on the east and west sides of the church.  Ten years later the trees on the east side were removed to make room for the horse sheds. In 1998 the church voted to merge with the Methodist Church in Wolcott. Some members remained and formed the North Wolcott Community Church.
