Description:
The small building on the right is the first building for the Walworth Fire Department.   The land was purchased form Orman Frank for $1 in March, 1929.  A chemical cart was kept in it.  After purchasing a 1931 Sanford Fire Truck, the building needed to be expanded.  The two-bay structure on the left is the Second Walworth Fire Department building.  It was built around 1950 when the district acquired a second fire truck.  For several years this original building was used to store medical equipment such as wheel chairs and other equipment to loan to Walworth residents who needed it.

Historic narrative:
Jay Taber in his 2006 articles about Penfield Road for the Walworth Historical Society Newsletter wrote about it:

Loan closet/1st fire house: This was Walworth Fire Department’s first fire house and was home to the chemical cart. The property was purchased in 1929 when the department was established. It was later used as a medical loan closet for wheel chairs, beds, commodes, crutches and other related items. The loan closet is now located at the town hall. David and Andrea Kords purchased the building in March 2004.
