The West Walworth Volunteer Fire Department was organized in 1947 to provide fire protection to the hamlet of West Walworth and the surrounding area.

 We currently have 35 active members in the department; and our fire hall is located at 3870 West Walworth Road

 We own four pieces of apparatus:  a 2004 pumper, a 1994 pumper, a 2012 Rescue, and a 2007 Chevy utility pickup.

 We respond to approximately 100 fire calls per year. We also hold approximately 40 drills or practices each year, most on Monday evenings. Our business meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month. We participate at local Firemen’s parades around the area in the summer, and have a team in the Wayne County Firemen’s Softball League.

 For the female members of the community who do not want to become fire fighters, we have an active Ladies’ Auxiliary.

 Our Fire District is roughly the south western portion of the Town of Walworth, extending from the Macedon town line, north to Atlantic Ave, and from the Monroe County line, east to Route 350. The eastern side then runs diagonally south across the town, to include the Gananda Middle School, Hidden Pond Lane, Foxglove and Goldenrod Courts and Aster Terrace until it intersects the Macedon town line again.

Current OSHA regulations require each new fire fighter to attend basic firefighter training, with eight hours minimum of refresher training each year after that. Training is available locally through the New York State Fire Academy, at our hall, and the surrounding fire halls as well as the Wayne county fire-training center in Lyons.

We provide personal protective gear and fire pagers for all members. .
