Historic narrative:

This single-room schoolhouse no longer exists. It served its area for several generations and closed in 1944. Bob Foote was a student there in Sept. 1935 and was there for 6 years. He recalls that the school was fenced in and that it was a wooden building like the Joy School. Mrs. George Wunder was a former student and believes it was torn down in 1945 by Fred Knittel who used the wood to make his barn. After 1944 this area was no longer considered part of the Sodus School District but instead became part of the Lyons School District.
