Description:
This one room schoolhouse no longer exists. It was the first one room schoolhouse in the Town of Sodus to close. According to NYGEN schooling began here in 1833 and the one-room schoolhouse closed in 1915.

Historic narrative:

This one room schoolhouse no longer exists. It was the first one room schoolhouse in the Town of Sodus to close. It closed in 1915.

It is said to have originally been a log schoolhouse. The 1911 photo shows it as a cobblestone building with very thick wooden beams.

Prior to 1951, the property was sold to Henry Clicquennoi . In 1951, he sold it to Peter VanHoute.
