Historic narrative: | |||||
This school was the first school in the area that had both white and black children in attendance in the mid 18oos. Frank Grosz told us a humorous story about this school. In the early 1900s, Stu Sills Sr. dove his Packard to the school. He produced a dead skunk, climbing onto the roof of the school, he proceeded to put the skunk down the school's chimney. School was cancelled for 2 - 3 days while the skunk was removed and the smell dissipated much to the joy of the young boys. This school is now used as a gift shop (Ye Old School House Country Store).Marge Perez has provided this list of School Teachers:Sodus |
