Description:
The 1927 frame building with galleries was built by Stephen Axtel.
The current 1863 building was built by Stephen Axtel, Jr.
Stained glass windows were installed in 1903 and 1904.

Historic narrative:
Organized in 1812, the first church was built in 1827. During the 1840s two groups broke away to form churches with abolitionist principals, but later returned. The current brick building was erected in 1863.
