Historic narrative:
The Reformed Dutch Church of East Newark was organized in 1835 and disbanded in 1869. It reorganized in 1883 and built a building on the southwest corner of Vienna and Godfrey Streets which is no longer there. In 1904 they built a new building on East Avenue using bricks from the old building and installing there the clock from the old building. The clock was removed in 1933 after the pendulum weight fell into the vestibule. In 1973-77 the new Woodlane sanctuary was contructed by volunteers.
