Historic narrative:

Behind this home is a small outbuilding built with small, red, lake-washed cobbles and brick quoins on a sandstone block foundation. Notice the slate roof.

BLANKERBERG SMOKE HOUSE


Though now used as a milk shed, this structure* owned by J. Van Blankehberg on the Newark-Sodus Road, was originally intended as a smoke house.


STONES: The stones are small red lake stones.


JOINTSs Both horizontal and vertical joints are V*s.


MORTARs It is light colored and fine textured.


QUOINS  The quoins are brick. There are no lintels.
