Historic narrative:

Here's a 2-story home that has been maintained as a cobblestone home should. It was built with small, red cobbles. A wing was added to the right. Notice the unusual shape of the lintels with a square piece above the rectangular block.

GRIMM PLACE, SODUS


Clara Grimm owns this house on the North Geneva Road in the town of Sodus. She moved here in 1915 and. Jacob Cambier lived here twenty years before that. Cambier built the frame addition.


STONES: The red lake stones measure 1 1/2 - 2 1/2- x 1 1/2 - 3/4 inches.


JOINTS: The horizontal V is 1 inch high. Courses are 2 1/2 Inches 


MORTAR: The mortar is gray and fine textured.


QUOINS: The regular sandstone quoins are dash tooled.

LINTELS: The lintels are wooden.


SIDES: Larger stones are at the side.


BACK: The back has been cemented over
