Rose United Methodist Church

Description:
Peter Harmon, a local man,  was architect and builder. The total cost was $8000.
In 1954 the steeple was deemed too weak to hold the bell. It was removed and stored until 1974 when it was installed in front of the church.

Historic narrative:
Organized in 1832, the congregation built a cobblestone church in 1836 on Main St. It burned in 1859. The new church was built on School Street. The basement was enclosed in 1860 and the congregation held services there until the sanctuary was completed an dedicated on 3 Mar 1864 when a bell was installed in the steeple.
