Historic narrative:
Organized in 1822, the first building was erected that year on Vienna Street at Johnson. The building was moved to Cuyler St. in 1835. The current building on the four corners was erected in 1865 on the site of Palmyra's first tavern. The cost of construction and decoration was over $26,000. When the building was dedicated on October 31, 1867, the visiting pastor refused to perform the ceremony until the last $7000 was raised, making the church debt free. Notice the cross detailing below the steeples. The Church closed June 30, 2019. It is currently for sale.
