Historic narrative:
Organized in 1857 as the 1st Wesleyan Church of Ontario, the congregation built a frame building in 1865. The timber was donated by Chauncey Stevens and hewn by Flynn Whitcomb  The basement was added after the frame was built. A W Graham built the seats and 1st pulpit. The church was dedicated in 1869. 1899 the congregation voted to change to a Congregational form of government and formally joined the Congregational Consociation in 1901. In 1961 the congregation voted to join the United Church of Christ.
