Historic narrative:
The Christian Church was organized in 1820 as the Church of God and built a stone building, 36' x 40' in Upper Corners in 1832.

In 1856 they built a frame building in the village, 40' x 60', with a large front porch, using stones from the old building for the foundation. In 1904 the stained glass windows were installed and the front porch was enclosed. In 1906 as the sexton was lowering the chandelier to light the lamps, the ropes broke and the chandelier fell to the floor
spilling kerosene over the carpet and staining the chairs. Luckily, no fire started.

The church closed in 1913. The building was then purchased by an anonymous donor (believed to be Love Seymour) who offered the building to the Masons for free as long as the Order of Eastern Star were allowed to meet there.
