Description:

60 Memorials

The Sherman Cemetery is located on the corner of Electronics Road and Route 21 just a little North of Marion, Wayne County, NY. The cemetery sits on land originally set aside by the Clark family in 1843, and it is where many of the VT. (Thomas) Clarks, the Oxford, MA and Cambridge, NY (Abraham) Pratts, and other related families are buried. It is notable that, even though this has been called the Sherman Cemetery forever, not a single Sherman could be found buried here.

Please note that the dates given are death dates, and that the numbers that follow are the ages. (m/y/d) If you should find your ancestor and need more information, please contact the Office of the County Historian in Lyons, NY.

UPDATE: May 2022   This cemetery is mowed four times per year and is
under the care of the Town of Marion.  In 2008 a sign reading "Sherman Cemetery" was placed to mark the site.  Hours are dawn to dusk.
No motor vehicles are allowed, no pets, no containers and no digging.
