Historic narrative:
This 1800 square foot building was built around 1830.This building was a school until 1923.  It is locally known as the school attended by the grandfather of Winston Churchill, Leonard Jerome.  

The Jerome family was only in this area for a short time. Leonard married Clarissa Hall from Palmyra. The Jerome's moved to Rochester for a short time, Leonard working with his brother at his newspaper business. Clarissa and Leonard then moved to the New York City where Jennie Jerome was born in 1854. Jennie would marry Lord Randolph Spencer-Churchill. Sir Winston Spencer-Churchill would be their first born son, born on November 30, 1874.
