Historic narrative:
The original John Rogers farm was built in the 1830''s on the edge of Williamson. His grandson,Willis Rogers was a successful farmer who built a larger home in Williamson. He was one of the first farmers in the area to pack apples in barrels instead of sending them to the dry house. He grew celery, potatoes, carrots as well as different kinds of fruit. He was the first person in Wayne County to grow celery.
