Historic narrative:
Organized before 1810, J. W. Colburn built a frame structure in the northwest section of the town. In 1847 the current building was erected in the hamlet. In 1970, when the trustees were replacing the steeple roof, the allowed the Youth Group to choose the color. The yellow steeple is now a landmark
