Historic Site #:10-034   (Gone)   Type: E3 Town:Rose
Site Name:Glenmark District School #1GPS Coordinates:43.196752, -76.915103
Address:Glenmark Road
Description:
The school was converted from a barn into the school building.

Historic narrative:
The school's house was "just about on the Line (Rose-Huron Town line) in the narrow place where road and stream lead out into Huron."
The next building was situated to the west of the former barn on what was the Oswald property. The Oswald's moved the school building to where it became a residence.
Doris Richardson and Carlton Fitch were concerned about the location of the Glenmark schoolhouse. The old school is about where Mike Woods' barn is now. The Oswald house burned down, and the schoolhouse was moved up the hill. It was made into a house where Mike Woods now lives - additions and changes have been made.
