Historic narrative:
Organized as a Presbyterian Church in 1831, the congregation built a church in 1836. It changed to Congregational ties in 1841 and appointed Samuel R. Ward as their pastor, a black minister for a a white congregation. In 1853, the congregation called Antoinette Brown as their pastor, the first woman pastor in New York State. The church disbanded in 1858 and the building is now a private dwelling.
