Hardly any trace can be found of Clyde's original Erie Canal lock. It was located at the south end of Lock Street in Clyde.

Historic narrative:
The historic marker states:

Lock No. 64

Ruins of original Erie Canal lock
built Ca. 1821, at "old block house"
later Clyde Village. Lift of 5 feet.
Replaced by Lock 53 during canal
enlargement in 1841.
