This site was originally a sawmill and gristmill. Later it would become a box factory.

Historic narrative:
Mill Street got its name from several mills that were located there. In the 1850s, George Sager built a mill that was both a sawmill and gristmill.  Harvey Weaver had it next, then Charles Sager.  Finally by the 1890s, Chester Conant used it as a box factory.The boxes produced were mostly sold locally to farms that used them to package and ship their produce.
