Below the trees on the left are squared off rocks which (at low water levels, suggest a wooden dam could close the northern channel off. The canal would have continued to the right and down.

Historic narrative:
The Fairport Yacht Club uses a portion of Clinton's Ditch as its mooring basin. Clinton's Ditch comes from the west and now makes a U-turn to connect to the Barge Canal. There are stones under the water on the right-hand side of the U-turn.
