Site Name:Stone ArchGPS Coordinates:43.03841, -77.15454
Address:4760 Rt. 31 Palmyra NY South West Corner of NYS Rt. 31 and County Rd. 7
Description:
Port Gibson and this site are in the Town of Manchester, Ontario County. They are included on the Wayne County Historic Sites website as a courtesy to all those who wish to trace the earlier canals through Wayne County.

The best time to find all the remnants of the older canals is during the months when there are no leaves on the trees and bushes.

The arch is partially hidden by greenery and by stone cages recently added by Ontario County Highway workers to shore up the walls.

Historic narrative:
The stone arch provided overflow for the Port Gibson basin when the water levels were too high.
