Historic narrative:

This building was built around 1888.  It had grades first through eighth and two years of high school, students took their last 2 years of high school at Wolcott.  In 1916, four years of high school were offered.  This building was torn down around 1929.

After this building was torn down the rubble was used to fill in land at a nearby property.  In 2005, a large school bell was found buried on the nearby property.  It is assumed the bell came from this school building since the rubble came from here.  The bell was donated to the Rose Historical Society and is currently still on display at the Rose Historical Society's Farnsworth Museum.
