Description:
LeRoy Island is the, of the three main islands, the only island connected to the mainland by a bridge. Named after Harlow C. LeRoy, a prominent Oswego lumberman, the island has seen a steady growth in summer, and now year-long residents. The photographs below show a time when there were very few cottages. In the photo below of the north end of LeRoy Island, one can imagine the Native American Cayuga Indians traversing these very sacred grounds.

LeRoy Island - also known as Kenoga, Long, and Butte Island. LeRoy Island Hotel. Fire destroyed in 1901. Rebuit the following year.
